International Cooperation

The international cooperation at the Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Sciences (the FEE) can be characterized in terms of the mobilities of its staff and students as well as from the standpoint of the participation of its creative and scientific researchers in various events abroad.

Within academic mobilities, the Faculty is primarily involved in the European Union Mobility and Cooperation Program in the field of higher education in Europe, the lifelong education program ERASMUS. Recently, mobilities have been conducted also within the CEEPUS program and grants have been awarded through the National Scholarship Program. The international cooperation also continues within scientific and research activities at a level of departments of the Faculty which participate in joint projects, especially with the Czech Republic. There is also cooperation on publications as well as the mutual transfer of information and knowledge. The Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Sciences is a member of various international organizations:

GUPES

GUPES - Global University Partnership on the Environment and Sustainability – works under the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) and started its history in June 2012 under the initiative the "Higher Education Sustainability Initiative" (RIO + 20). Currently it has more than 500 partners from universities around the world. The GUPES aims to promote and push ahead issues of the environment and sustainable development into higher education practices and curricula by supporting innovative approaches to education. The Technical University in Zvolen has been in partnership with this organization since January 2015.

LE NOTRE

From the year 2006 to September 2009, the FEE was an active member of the LE NOTRE II program representing a thematic network within landscape architecture and co-funded by the EU. The target group includes university teachers and students at all levels of studies as well as those interested such as planning and design offices, research institutions, self-governments, independent organizations etc. The program represents a great database of information and contacts in the given area and regularly organizes meetings and conferences. By April 2009, the FEE had shown an inflexible attitude to this program, however, after changing the contact person the information started to be disseminated again, especially among PhD students and staff of the Department of Landscape Planning and Design.

UNISCAPE

Since January 2011, the Faculty has been a member of the network of international universities implementing the European Convention on Landscape – UNISCAPE, one of the priorities being designing international study programmes, creating mobilities as well as cooperation on joint international projects.

SAIA, n.o.

SAIA (Slovak Academic Information Agency) is a non-governmental non-profit organization that has been strengthening the civic society with its programmes and services and facilitating the internationalization of education and science in Slovakia since 1990. Find more information on the SAIA website.

AIESEC

AIESEC is the largest student-managed organization in the world. It develops students on the basis of events, membership, conferences and, in particular, through foreign internships in different countries of the world. Do you enjoy learning new cultures and languages? Do you want to travel to a foreign cultural internship and raise people's awareness of the various social, cultural or environmental issues in the country? Well, do not hesitate and take the opportunity to travel as soon as possible!

Bilateral cooperation

is presented by concluding cooperation contracts between the Faculty of Ecology and Environmental Sciences and a relevant institution. At the FEE, we are striving for a wide range of activities whose results are reflected not only at the scientific level but also in the learning process. Our partners are the following institutions and organizations:

  • Centre of Environmental Education Živica – www.zivica.sk

It is a long-term cooperation with CEEV Živica. They are especially activities related to the Socrates Institute, Global Education, the Young Environmental Reporter, the Green School International Programme etc.
