Graduates of the PhD study programme of Ecology and Biodiversity Protection have a good understanding of research into the scientific methods of the protected area ecosystems and manage to apply scientific knowledge of natural, technical, and human sciences in the practical protection of nature, landscape, biodiversity, and the environment. They create and manage research programmes aimed at monitoring and scientific observing of ecological processes in the protected areas and at investigating and studying the relation between man and nature. They apply scientific knowledge in independent creative work, in an alternative solution of conflict situations between people and nature and in verifying the working hypotheses concerning ecological stability of ecosystems under the changing ecological conditions. The graduates can work in managerial positions of the nature, landscape and environment protection, in scientific and research institutions aimed at the ecological landscape research, in the international cooperation of the protected areas and the environment, and at natural sciences-oriented universities.
